What the house is told
An enquiry brings us your name, your email, the programme and university you are studying, the matter you have selected and whatever particulars you choose to write. A subscription brings an email address alone. An application to the introductions programme brings your name, your email, where your circle is, and the programme you completed with us.
The site keeps no accounts of its own, sets no tracking cookies, and carries no advertising pixels. Ordinary server logs exist as they do everywhere, and they rotate out on the host's usual schedule.
What it is used for, and nothing else
To answer you, to price the matter you raised, to deliver the letter you asked for, or to consider your application. The specialist assigned to your engagement sees its particulars; nobody else in the house needs to, so nobody else does.
We do not write to your university. We do not write to your employer. Billing descriptors are discreet by design, and where an introduction is involved, neither party learns the other's name from us.
What the house will never do
Sell, rent or trade what you have given us. Name a patron in marketing: the patrons' book carries initials and a study, never a name. Send marketing mail to an address given only for a quote. Publish anything about an engagement, however flattering it would be to do so.
Keeping it, and removing it
Records are kept while an engagement is live, and afterwards for our books. Write to desk@laurelaude.com from the address on file and your contact record is deleted and your name removed from any list it sits on. Every letter carries an unsubscribe that works the first time it is pressed.
A person will answer
Anything unclear, write to desk@laurelaude.com. A specialist replies, usually within two hours, and it will be a person rather than a form.
